MercenaryTrader.com Interview

In mid February I had the wonderful experience of spending two full days in the Nevada high Sierras with Jack Sparrow and Mike McDermott, professional traders and producers of the MercenaryTrader.com blog. It is always fun to spend time with other traders – whether they are old-time veterans or emerging superstars. Mike and Jack fit the later category.
In my opinion, MercenaryTrader.com is one of the best trading blogs out there. Mike and Jack bring to the markets a combination of an unconventional macro-economic perspective, a keen understanding of risk control principles and a sound technical discipline.
My time with Jack and Mike has produced a series of interviews on MercenaryTrader.com. This blog contains the PDF of the first five parts of the the six part series. I will link to the sixth and final part when it runs.
In the meanwhile, do yourself a big favor and visit www.MercenaryTrader.com
One final note. Jack and Mike give me far more credit than I deserve by using the term “Legend.” They are gracious with their ideas, their friendship and their description of me. In my own opinion, the noun “Legend” must be reserved until the end of one’s trading career. There is an old saying that sooner or later nearly all traders are carried out on a stretcher. The final judgement of a trader is determined by how he or she finishes the race. Trading is a marathon, not a sprint. I have not finished yet.
In my own opinion, to be considered excellent or great a trader must finish the race at or near his or her all time NAV. Presently I am in a drawdown (about 12% off my all-time high NAV). So, I race on.
